Keeping your watch in great condition
Our principles for taking care of your watch
As a watch retailer and more importantly collector for more than five decades, we’ve been guided by some principles to keep our watches in great condition.
1. Keep your watch wound
An appropriately lubricated watch will work better and longer, because winding keeps the watch working, and spreads the lubricants.
2. Keep it clean
Never use soap, just a little water and microfiber cloth should do the trick.
3. Use your warranty effectively
If you have minor problems with your watch and can wait, it often makes sense to send in your watch for warranty “repair” shortly before the end of the warranty period.
4. Service your watch regularly
A fine mechanical watch needs to be serviced regularly. It isn’t just a profit-making attempt by the watch industry, it will genuinley make the watch perform better for longer.
