Disclaimer For Items Purchased From Us

Jewellery is delicate, it is important that it is looked after carefully.

In the event of a fault or breakage, we will try our best to remedy the situation by referring the issue back to our goldsmiths.

Please consider the following as a guide when purchasing jewellery from us.

Manufacturing Faults

In the event of a manufacturing fault we will refer back to our workshop who will usually be able to provide a repair or replacement. Refunds will not be given if the goods have been damaged by you.

Manufacturing faults do not include:

Chipped, cracked or broken gemstones and inclusions.

Broken chains

General wear and tear including jewellery that has been bent out of shape.

Plating that has worn off.

If you would like any of the above repairs made, we can assess the damage and will let you know the cost before proceeding.

Care and cleaning:

Respect your jewels and they will respect you! Please note that wear and tear in the course of normal use is not considered a manufacturing fault.

Jewellery and gemstone items are delicate and should be handled carefully. Protect it from from chemicals (hairspray, perfume, nail polish remover, chlorine, detergents, lotions etc.) direct sunlight and objects that may damage or cause scratches or dents.

Jewellery that is plated or with certain finishes applied will wear over time. Gemstones are delicate and may chip if not carefully worn. Rings and pendants may break or bend out of shape if mishandled, gemstones breaking from mishandling is not considered a manufacturing fault.

The article above is correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand the store and its employees are not responsible for the condition of articles at the time of receipt. Any damage or loss will be limited to the actual repair. I will inspect repaired items before leaving the store. I must be satisfied with their condition before removing them from the store.

For Stone Set Jewellery Repaired/Remodelled By Us

We are confident in the professionalism of our workshops, however all natural stones are subject to internal flaws and fractures (not always visible) and as such susceptible at any time during all aspects of manufacturing, even when minimal pressure is exerted, to suffer stress fractures. This can happen especially when stones are removed and reset.

Please keep this in mind when supplying stones for remodelling and note that Jonathan David Jewellers will not accept responsibility for any damage whatsoever, sustained by stones during the setting and finishing processes.
